“[T]he problem of the Ufos is, as you rightly say, a very fascinating one, but it is as puzzling as it is fascinating; since, in spite of all observations I know of, there is no certainty about their very nature. On the other side, there is an overwhelming material pointing to their legendary or mythological aspect. As a matter of fact the psychological aspect is so impressive, that one almost must regret that the Ufos seem to be real after all. I have followed up the literature as much as possible and it looks to me as if something were seen and even confirmed by radar, but nobody knows exactly what is seen. In consideration of the psychological aspect of the phenomenon I have written a booklet about it, which is soon to appear. It is also in the process of being translated into English. Unfortunately being occupied with other tasks I am unable to meet your proposition. Being rather old, I have to economize my energies.

Foundation
A license of the artistic enjoyment is the possibility of creation of realities. Maybe worlds, beings, hybridizations. Fed by ancient and contemporaries myths, the imagination fluctuates among stereotypes, ancestral legacies, information of different origin. Some assert the established standards, the stereotypes. Others force realities up to the point of troubling, as it troubles the unknown, which comes to destabilize our daily order.
Like those lights that appear in the skies, thus the possibilities of imagination are born; multiplying; moving erratically; being cloned, coming or going, suddenly disappearing or spreading to parallel worlds.
Those beings people speak of, who feed our dreams and fears, are here on paper, on a screen, in an audio, in our mind or on the planet. Art makes them tangible.
Art connects, bridges the realities Jung speaks about and at the same time that it manifests that link ,it makes visible the possible dialogues between both.

About the project:
MACA Exhibition of Alien Art and Culture is an exhibition related to the imagination, worlds and possible beings inspired by the alien, the idea of the extraterrestrial and the phenomena of unidentified flying objects.
The call is open to artists from different fields: visual, audiovisual and sound arts, design, illustration, and literature .

The exhibition will be complemented by talks, lectures and seminars held by people specialized in the UFO phenomenon and the study of the arts on this theme.
As MACA official launching, the exhibition “ Encuentros Cercanos” with artists specially invited, will take place on November 24th at Complejo Cultural del Viejo Mercado Rafaela, Santa Fe, Argentina. The curational work and production will be in charge of ACA group , Complejo Cultural del Viejo Mercado Rafaela and Secretaría de Cultura de la Municipalidad de Rafaela.
MACA is a nonprofit or competitive exhibition. Therefore, participants give up all image copyrights for the artwork presented for publication and exhibition.
The organizers commit to display the work, whenever possible, accompanied by the authors´ pertinent information.
In no case will the organization have the original artworks.

Aim of the exhibition
To generate spaces of production, exhibition, recreation and reflection on the subject of UFOs, aliens and the possible imaginary in relation to artistic creation.
To make it possible a free participation, without a profit aim; stimulating the artistic concern of artists and people in general.
To promote the junction among arts, sciences, journalism and mythology, generating dialogues among different disciplines and knowledge.
To facilitate the access to exhibition and visualization of artworks on a platform of popular use in social networks.
To foster art and discussion spaces, involving people and different institutions.
To collaborate with the diffusion of the participants´ artworks.
